Bird Watching

Sinharaja Rainforest Birding Expedition

📅 4 Days / 3 Nights 👥 2 – 8 pax 🏔 Moderate

Sri Lanka is home to 34 endemic bird species, and this expedition is built around the crown jewel of them all: the dazzling Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, found only in the rainforests of Sinharaja. Over four days you’ll track mixed-species flocks with an expert ornithologist guide through primary rainforest, lowland wetlands, and the birding hotspots of Kitulgala.

Beyond the Blue Magpie, expect sightings of the Green-billed Coucal, Sri Lanka Spurfowl, and a wealth of colourful residents — Bee-eaters, Kingfishers, Flycatchers and the ever-present Indian Peafowl.
